After a cylinder head or engine deck is cut during a rebuild, your block height is shorter. If the VVT covers are then installed improperly they wear out, leaving you with a P0011 code and VVT that no longer works on your R35 GT-R. Many engine builders know that an incorrectly installed timing cover will wear and cause failure of left or right bank VVT control.
Installing these covers with the centering tool ensures perfect concentricity, so you no longer have to modify the original covers or worry about misalignment. They can be installed on the original front cover or on the Magnus billet front cover.
